Have you ever wondered who designs the perfect user experience in your favorite restaurant or café? As a UX designer, I can tell you that it's not just about the food on the plate, but the entire atmosphere, from the logo to the toilets, that creates a truly memorable experience.

People ask me what I do in life, and I find it difficult to explain...
If I say I'm a graphic designer (because what can I do, I'm first and foremost, always, a graphic designer), they conclude that I draw or create images, maybe posters or business cards, maybe "oh can you help me with a quick presentation?" or "I need a small logo, something simple "…
But I haven't been a graphic designer for a long time.
Product designer? What does that even mean? So I have to explain that I design digital products.
But that doesn't feel very accurate either.
I design the user experience. And it's really complicated to understand...
But guess what, User experience is not an invention of the "high-tech" industry. User experience exists everywhere, in any space or object.
While traveling to Prague, I felt it all around me. You go into restaurants and cafes in Prague, and you can't help but experience... a UX designer was definitely involved.
So what does it mean?
It starts with the logo, which sets the atmosphere, continues with the shirts of the waiters, the walls, the furniture, even the food is designed exactly in a way that completes the experience, it's not just food on a plate. The music, the lighting, the smells... and then the toilets. They are also part of the experience and complete the whole visit, they were not overlooked.
So we came to eat, but we got an experience.
We are the "users".
The product - our breakfast.
And the experience? wow.
This is what I do in life. I get a definition of a product, and turn it into an experience. I analyze who my users are, what they are looking for, what their day-to-day looks like, and how I can turn it from just another day with tasks - into a wow experience.
And that's just the tip of the ice 😅
